1944 – 2016

LEWISTON — Anita D. (Giguere) Smith, 71, of Lewiston, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 12, 1944, the daughter of Leon and Florienne (Duchette) Giguere.

A woman of deep faith, Anita was a kind and caring woman to her family and also to her special family at the John F. Murphy Homes.

She enjoyed classic country music, extensive travels and especially her time at Schoodic Peninsula where she would sit for hours listening to the crashing of the waves.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; her children, Jeffrey (Wendy) of Brunswick, Ted (Sheri) of Greene and Scott (Debbie) of Virginia. Anita was a loving lady who cherished her 10 grandchildren; 11½ great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews with whom she had constant contact, celebrating their joys and achievements and a steady guide influencing their lives.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her son, Timmy.
