1942 – 2016

LIVERMORE — Arthur Irvin Simmons, 73, a resident of Livermore, passed away early Monday morning, Feb. 15, at his home after a long illness.

Arthur was born July 31, 1942, in Waldoboro, the son of Irvin Simmons and Frances (Achorn) Simmons. He attended school in Waldoboro, and later joined the U.S. Army. He married Crystal Robbins in Rockland on Aug. 5, 1987.

Arthur was a lobsterman, a clam digger, and then worked as a long-haul truck driver for 17 years. He loved trucking and telling stories, and was a CB radio enthusiast. He was an outdoor person who loved the ocean and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Crystal Simmons of Livermore; stepson, William Simmons; and stepdaughter, Tina Robbins of Rockland; Denna Hewlett, who was like a daughter, and her husband, Kevin, of Union; niece, Robin Wile and her children, Dennis Locke, and Shelby Wile; cousins, Gloria Velcher and her husband, Frank, of Waldoboro, and Jerry Lane, of Friendship; mother-in-law, Diane Daniello of Thomaston; sister-in-law, Barbara Seiders, and her husband, Jason Seiders Sr., of Thomaston; brothers-in-law, Herbert Robbins of Massachusetts, and Patrick Robbins, and his partner, Lisa, of Lewiston; nephew, Jason Seiders Jr., of Thomaston; and his very good friends, Melanie Therrien, Steven Ryan and Jennifer and Shawn Foster.
