The people of both cities are much surprised at the great popularity of roller skating. The secret of this popularity is because at the Roll-Away from the opening day on, the management was running a real city rink as one should be run. It has given every respectable person of the two cities a clean place of amusement. Every morning by nine o’clock the autos are beginning to stop at the Roll-Away to leave their passengers for an hour’s lesson. The six instructors have had to double up, and teach one pupil while the other rested, and it was impossible to accommodate them all in any other way. Every private party is taken this week, and nearly every one next week. Follow the crowd any afternoon or evening and you will find yourself at the Roll-Away having a good time with the others. — adv.

Thomas Eli after he had knocked on a door and said he was lost. The youth was reported missing about 4:15 p.m. and was believed to have gone hunting in the woods with his dog. The boy had wandered for two miles and ended up on Woodlawn Avenue at 7 p.m. Eli took the boy home. The Lisbon Falls and Lisbon Center Firemen with Chief Wilkins, who were called in to search for the boy, were commended on their prompt response and cooperation.

Some sat quietly and listened intently, others fidgeted from start to finish, but judging from the resounding round of applause at the end of the program, it would appear everyone enjoyed the Portland Symphony Orchestra’s “Kinderkonzert” Friday morning at the United Baptist Church in Lewiston. Children from several pre- and elementary schools from Lewiston, Auburn, Poland, Leeds and Mechanic Falls heard a delightful musical program performed by a woodwind quintet consisting of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn.
