1945 – 2016

NORWAY — Charles V. Reid Sr., 70, of West Paris, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Charles was born in Boston, Mass., on March 12, 1945, the son of Vincent C. and Mildred (Gates) Reid.

He attended schools in Chelmsford, Mass., and graduated from Westford Academy.

In his earlier years, Charles worked on his family’s farm. For most of his life, he was a pressman for New England Phonebook and later worked with North American Directory Company.

He had lived in West Paris for 15 years, moving there from Massachusetts.

Surviving are his son, Charles Reid Jr. of South Paris; his daughter, Amelia Moore of West Paris; and a sister, Janice Gillispie and her husband, Chuck, of Missouri.

Charles is predeceased by his wife, Claire (Poitras) Reid, who died on March 27, 2010; and his birth mother, with whom he was reunited after 40 years, Emma Cavanaugh.
