1955 – 2016

HARTFORD — Gary “Freddie” Hinkley, 60, of Hartford passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at his home.

Gary was born in North Bellmore, N.Y., on Feb. 18, 1955, a son of George and Alice Hinkley.

At a young age, he moved to Hingham, Mass., where he spent his childhood and early adult life.

In 1982, Gary married the love of his life, Terry, had two children and later moved to Maine where he has lived for the past 25 years.

Gary spent his working years owning and operating his own carpentry business, a job he loved. He was passionate about his family and friends and enjoyed summers on Canton Lake, watching sports, having BBQs and listening to music.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terry Hinkley; son, Gary Hinkley of Portland; daughter, Stephanie Armstrong and husband, Robert, of Minot; mother, Alice Hinkley of Lewiston; sister, Penny Wyle and husband, Bruce, of New York; sister, Roseann Hinkley of Massachusetts; and sister, Maryann Cookson of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, George Hinkley; and sister, Diane Hanson.
