1923 – 2016

PORTLAND — Margaret Frances Ridlon, 93, formerly of 12 Ridlon Road, Lisbon, died on Monday, Feb. 22, at the Seaside Nursing Home in Portland, where she had been a resident since August.

Born in Augusta on Feb. 3, 1923, she was the daughter of William and M. Frances Waite Keenan. She was educated in Norway and Lewiston schools and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’41. On March 17, 1944, she married George C. Ridlon in Texas. A photo engraver for the Lewiston Sun Journal, George passed away on Jan. 14, 1999.

A longtime member of the former St. Patrick’s Parish, she was a dedicated wife and mother. She also ran a small apple orchard in Lisbon, alongside her husband.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane, and husband, Charles Blue, of Branchburg, N.J.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
