1942 – 2016
AUBURN — Susan Beliveau passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Hospice House with family by her side.
She was born Feb. 12, 1942. She lived in Lewiston with her parents for most of her young and adult life. Susan attended Mary Joseph Academy in Biddeford and graduated with honors in June 1959. After graduation, she attended Mary Mount College. In addition, she graduated from Mr. Bernard’s School of Hair Fathion in 1975. Her disabilities prevented her from further work or other pursuits during her adult life. She was a patient at Russell Park Manor over last few years. Susan was an avid artist, painting in oils, pastels and ink and was engaged in quilting.
Surviving are her sister, Veronica Hunnewell of Kennebunk; cousins, Patricia Thomas of California and her children, Brian Thomas, CB Thomas and Julie Doody: Gilda Dick of Arizona and her children, Sarah Beliveau and EJ Dick; John Beliveau Sr. of Lewiston and his children, Julia Lamond, Kathy Cole and John B. Beliveau Jr.
She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Bella Theriault Beliveau; and aunts, Adrienne and Germaine Beliveau; and uncle, Bertrand A. Beliveau and his deceased wife, Rita F Beliveau. In addition she was predeceased by her cousins, Paul and Adrien Theriault and children of Roland and Emelda Theriault.
Susan fought very hard to overcome her disabilities over the years. There are many who cared for Susan during her difficult times, namely the staff at 306 Pine St., Lewiston, and all the caregivers at Russell Park Manor. In addition during her final days of life, the care givers at Hospice House in Auburn provided outstanding comfort and support during her final hours of life.
A special thank-you to Melanie and her staff at 306 Pine St., who for many years cared for Susan.
