Sturtevant named to ECFC All-Academic Team

CASTLETON, Vt. — Following another impressive season on the field, the Castleton football team had 12 players named to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference All-Academic Team as announced Feb. 3.

Tyler Sturtevant of Mechanic Falls was one of the 12 players to be named to the team for his performance in the classroom.

Worcester Polytechnic lists dean’s list

WORCESTER, Mass. — The following local residents were among 1,238 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute named to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the fall 2015 semester.

Ryanne Dailey of Carthage is a member of the class of 2017 majoring in chemical engineering.

Calvin Downey of Buckfield is a member of the class of 2019 majoring in physics.

Residents named to Simmons College dean’s list

BOSTON, Mass. — The following local residents were named to the 2015 fall semester dean’s list at Simmons College in Boston.

Julie Ann DiPasquale, Auburn. Her major is nursing.

Kelly Lynne Harrison, Lisbon Falls. Her major is art and sociology.

Natalie Moir Dickinson, Lisbon Falls. Her major is undeclared.

Elizabeth Margaret Carey, Turner. Her major is nursing.

Maura Susan Dompkouski, Wales. Her major is nursing.

To qualify for dean’s list, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.

Auburn student studying abroad

CANTON, N.Y. — Brittany S. Eastman of Auburn is participating in an off-campus study abroad program during the spring semester through St. Lawrence University.

Eastman is participating in  the Kenya Semester Program. She attended St. Dominic Academy.

Nearly two-thirds St. Lawrence University students study off campus at some point during their undergraduate experience at either one its international or domestic study abroad program sites.

Mechanic Falls student named to dean’s list

CLEMSON, S.C.— Nicole Barbour Cary of Mechanic Falls has been named to the dean’s list at Clemson University for the fall 2015 semester.

Cary is majoring in landscape architecture.

To be named , a student must achieve a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

St. Lawrence students named to dean’s list

CANTON, N.Y. — The following students have been selected for inclusion on the dean’s list for academic achievement during the fall 2015 semester at St. Lawrence University.

Brittany S. Eastman of Auburn. Eastman is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in government. She attended St. Dominic Academy.

Holland B. Gallup of Turner. Gallup is a member of the Class of 2017 and is majoring in biology. She attended Kents Hill School.

Taren L. McGray of Turner. McGray is a member of the Class of 2016 and is majoring in neuroscience. She attended Leavitt Area High School.

To be eligible, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.
