1927 – 2016
RUMFORD — Gloria (Ma) Kerr, 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, surrounded by family at Rumford Community Home.
Gloria was born May 26, 1927, a daughter of Alton and Edith Rosetta (Libby) Hutchinson. She graduated from Mexico High School and attended medical school in Boston, Mass. She met and married the love of her life, Bill, and they were married for 64 years before his passing in 2010.
Gloria was a very kind and easygoing soul. She loved being with family and friends, doing crosswords, knitting and laughing. She will be sadly missed by all.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Wayne Kerr of Auburn and Bruce Kerr of Manicopa, Ariz.; daughters, Donna Kerr and companion Robby Lovell, of Mexico, Susan Lavoie and husband, George, of Rumford, Sharon Rabon and husband, Chuck, of Buckfield, and Barbara Newton and husband, Terry, of Burnham; her sister, Verna Scott of Yarmouth; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Greg; brother, Kenny Hutchinson; and sister, Fern Howard.
The family would like to thank Rumford Hospital, Rumford Community Home, Med-Care, Androscoggin Home Care and Beacon Hospice associates for the excellent care that was given to Gloria.
