ANSWER: Unfortunately, Sun Spots does not have promising news for you. For the past few weeks, paper has lined the windows and the doors have been closed at Hibachi Super Buffet (formerly New China Super Buffet) located at 40 East Ave. in Lewiston and the restaurant’s phone number no longer works.

A Code Enforcement Officer with the City of Lewiston reports that the establishment is closed for renovations and will reopen under new ownership at some point in the future. However, a date for re-opening was not immediately available, nor is it clear whether the new owners will honor former gift cards. There are no other locations listed for the business.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I lost a Fitbit One at the Circuit Orange Fitness gym in Auburn. If someone found it, could you please bring to the front desk and they will call us. Thank You. — No Name, Auburn.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Where is David James Elliott and what is he doing? He played Commander Rabb on JAG back in the ’90s and early 2000s. I’m watching him on reruns on Channel 43 on Time Warner Cable at 9 weeknights. Thanks a lot. — Mrs. Logger, Peru.

ANSWER: The Canadian actor who is most known for his role as Commander Harmon Rabb Jr. on JAG from 1995 to 2005 is still acting, appearing most recently beside Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston in the indie film “Trumbo” portraying the famous John Wayne. He’s also made several guest appearances on television shows in recent years, including a spot on CBS’s Scorpion, and he had a role in the made- for-TV movie Battle Scars in 2015.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: As you may know, Lost Valley has been purchased by a lovely couple who are working diligently to improve our beloved community gem. I know that Scott and April Shanaman, the new owners, are grateful for the community support they have already received. Personally, I am extremely grateful to them for their willingness to take on the challenge of running and improving Lost Valley.

During the fall of 2015, when Lost Valley was considering closing, the Friends of Lost Valley group formed. At that time, I wrote to you with a request for any antique winter equipment. We were delighted with the skis, sleds, snowshoes and even antique ice skates that were donated. They have greatly helped to spruce up Lost Valley. Still, we could use even more items because we are now expanding that decor throughout the entire lodge. So we are again looking for any antique winter equipment donations in good condition — skis, boots, sleds, snowshoes, etc. Donations can be brought directly to Lost Valley at 200 Lost Valley Road in Auburn. For more information about Friends of Lost Valley, visit their Facebook page. Thanks so much for your help. — Whitney, Auburn.
