The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. and topics include defunding a regional passenger rail study, a Fire Department grant and rebuilidng the city’s fund balance. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include adopting a form-based zoning code and adopting a new policy to ban using fund balances to lower property taxes through the 2018 fiscal year.
LEWISTON — School Committee meeting at 6 p.m. at Dingley Building. Agenda includes work on budget in English Language Learner services, special education, student and staff report, public comment, plus vote on school calendar and artificial turf for new field at high school.
AUBURN — Auburn Page Turners book discussion of “Ernie’s Ark,” 1-2 p.m., Auburn Public Library. The novel by Monica Wood is about a man who builds an ark in his yard when he’s laid off during a paper mill strike in Maine.
