Mary Lello, a licensed acupuncturist, will be at The Rangeley Fitness Center,25 Dallas Hill Road, on Wednesday March 9th at 11:30am to offer complimentary “mini” treatments to those who might like to experience the relaxing benefits of acupuncture.

She will be available to discuss how acupuncture might work for you, some of the benefits that others have found in getting regular acupuncture treatments, discuss insurance options and to answer any other questions you may have.

Stress, though beneficial to keep us on our toes, has been linked with detrimental health effects including heart disease, digestion problems, disturbance in sleep patterns and depression.

It is well documented that acupuncture can help break the “fight or flight” pattern that is the body’s natural response to stress.  By balancing the hormones and allowing a person to experience a deep state of relaxation acupuncture begins to help a person recover from the stress in their life.

In addition, acupuncture boosts the immune system to help fight off viral attacks of the respiratory or digestive system.  Regular acupuncture treatments can keep you healthier, but should you fall to one of the many viruses in your environment you may find you are able to fight it off twice as fast and your coworkers!

Mary Lello is a licensed acupuncturist (LAc), has her Master Degree in acupuncture (MAc) and is a diplomate of National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)d which upholds national standards for professional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine practitioners.  She had her own private practice in Portland Maine for sixteen years.  She moved to Farmington in 2013 and began practicing in the office of Cristi DeMarco on Front Street.

She will be performing the auricular (ear) acupuncture for those who would like to experience it.  It is the same procedure she uses at the two veterans clinics, which she has helped to launch in Portland and Augusta.  She volunteered in Portland for 6 years and the veterans found they were getting profound relief of their PTSD, disturbed sleep patterns and pain in general.  Most of these veterans had suffered with these symptoms for thirty years after serving in Viet Nam!

This protocol is extremely effective for any trauma victim, be it a battle experienced veteran or survivors of Hurricane Katrina and other traumatic events. This very same procedure is now being used by the military on the battle field to assist the soldiers discharged to the war zones.
