Rumford Area Quilters to meet
RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street.
Twelve-and-a-half-inch red, white and blue squares in the Rail Fence pattern will be collected to assemble veterans’ quilts.
All area quilters are invited. Show and tell is welcome.

Mexico class to meet Thursday
MEXICO — The Mexico High School class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Dick’s Restaurant.
Spouses and significant others are welcome.
Corned beef, cabbage at Paris Fire
PARIS — Paris Fire Department Auxiliary will host a public supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Paris Fire Department, Western Avenue.
The meal will feature corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, vegetables, macaroni and cheese, salads, bread and homemade desserts
Cost for adults is $8, ages 4 to 12 is $4, and ages 3 and younger are free.
Oxford County Democrats to meet
BETHEL — The Oxford County Democrats will hold a post-caucus meeting and planning session at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Crescent Park School.
The meeting is open to Democrats and those interested in electing Democrats. Business items will include planning for the upcoming campaign season with reports from legislative and county candidates, fundraising, schedule of events, and the election of a treasurer for the county committee. There will be follow-up from the March 6 caucuses and planning for the 2016 Democratic State Convention in Portland on May 6 and 7.

Conservation program, potluck in Poland
POLAND — An information program on a conservation easement and community potluck supper will be held Sunday, March 13, at Ricker Memorial Library.
The informational program will be presented by the Poland Conservation Commission to explain the Heart of Poland Conservation Easement, which will be voted on at the Poland town meeting on April 2.
There is no charge to attend. Those attending should bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. The potluck will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the presentation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Extension to sponsor bake sale
CHESTERVILLE — A bake sale will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the Town Office. It will continue until 4 or 4:30 p.m. and is being sponsored by the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers.

Finnish language class at Society
WEST PARIS — The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will offer a Finnish language class this spring.
Marja-Leena Bailey will conduct a four-session program, scheduled for Saturdays, April 2, 9, 30 and May 7 at the FinnAm Hall, 8 Maple St. A schedule with class times will be announced once the Society knows the number of attendees and their Finnish language experience.
Cost is $75 and $40 for additional family members. Checks should be payable to Finnish American Heritage Society and sent to P.O. Box 294, West Paris, ME 04289. An email address and/or phone number should be submitted with payment.
