Guess when Wilson Lake ice is out

WILTON — March 20 is the first day of spring and because of the weather there is a lot of speculation on when the ice is going to go out. The ice is considered out on Wilson Lake when a boat can go from the boat launch to the big island without touching ice.

The Wilton Fish & Game Association is holding its annual fundraiser under the eye of Bruce Dyke. For a $5 fee, one resident could be the $100 winner with the right guess on when the last ice leaves the lake.

Those wishing may get ticket from Bruce Dyke, Ray Ray’s Café in Wilton, Steve’s Market in Dryden or place name, contact number and money in an envelope with the month, day, hour and minute the ice will go out and mail it to Bruce Dyke, P.O. BOX 605, Wilton, ME 04294.
