Auburn seeks little league umpires
AUBURN — New Auburn Little League is looking for umpires for its 2016 season. It needs umpires for the Major division.

School program to offer summer meals
LEWISTON — The Lewiston School Nutrition Program will offer the Summer Food Service Program during the summer. The program provides free meals to school-age children between prekindergarten and 18. Breakfast and lunch are served weekdays with tentative dates of June 20 to Aug. 19.
Those running summer programs for school-age children may be eligible to participate. To discuss qualifications, contact the Lewiston School Nutrition office.
All meals must be eaten on site, as participants are not allowed to remove food from the parks or playgrounds.

Monmouth school holding pre-K registration
MONMOUTH — Henry L. Cottrell School in collaboration with Southern Kennebec Child Development Corporation Headstart will provide a 4-year-old program during the morning in the fall for children who meet established criteria and a pre-school program in the afternoon. Both programs will be located at the Henry L. Cottrell School, 169 Academy Road.
Registration for the programs will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, to Friday, May 6.
Children must be 4 years of age on or before Oct. 15, 2016. A copy of the child’s original birth certificate, social security car, and health record, including immunization dates, will be needed. The child will be checked for height, weight, vision and hearing as well as a brief screening with a Cottrell staff member.

Monmouth school holding kindergarten registration
MONMOUTH — Registration for children entering Kindergarten this fall, from Monmouth, that have not previously been in the H.L. Cottrell School pre-kindergarten program will be held Wednesday, April 27.
Children must be 5 years of age on or before Oct. 15, 2016. A copy of the child’s original birth certificate, social security card and health record, including immunization dates, will be needed. The child will be checked for height, weight, vision and hearing.

Cardiovascular disease prevention offered
LEWISTON — The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute will sponsor a multipart cardiovascular disease prevention and wellness program beginning in late March.
Living Light, a 12-part course for adults interested in improving their eating habits, creating a structured exercise routine, reducing stress, and improving wellness, will begin on March 29 and conclude on June 14. The classes will be presented on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the first-floor Young Wing conference room at 60 High St.
The deadline for registration is March 15.

Corned beef, cabbage supper planned
AUBURN — A corn beef and cabbage dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at American Legion Hall, 426 Washington St.
Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.
The meal is hosted by the Auxiliary.
Cribbage league lists winners
LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners on March 3 were, first place, Ed Madden and Dwight Webb; second, Richard Champagne and Mickie Farnum, Carol Laplante and Roger St. Pierre; fourth, Jim Burgess and Ed Hinkley; and, fifth, Don Haley and Anita Maheux.
The Seniors play on Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.
