BUCKFIELD — The Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters are sponsoring a performance by the Alberto Maranhao Theater Dance Company (CDTAM) from Natal, Brazil, on Friday, March 11, at 7 p.m. on the stage at Buckfield Junior-Senior High School.

The dance company is being hosted by the Cottage Street Creative Exchange of Norway and admission is free.

CDTAM, an 18-year-old contemporary dance company in Natal, Brazil, is the state dance company of Rio Grande do Norte and is under the artistic direction of Wanie Rose.

The dance company has received 81 invitations to perform in national and international festivals, including France, Germany, Mexico, Switzerland and the United States. The exciting and athletic dancers are known for their vast range of repertory, from narrative classical to Brazilian popular dances.

CDTAM’s 2016 Maine tour is sponsored by nonprofit Cottage Street Creative Exchange Inc., housed in Artistic Director Debi Irons’ Art Moves Dance Studio building, 13 Cottage St. in Norway’s downtown, where the dancers will be living, rehearsing and giving classes to the local community.
