Mexico class to meet for luncheon
RUMFORD — The next class luncheon for the Class of 1960 from Mexico High School will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at Gatch’s Restaurant.

Singing competition March 19
RUMFORD — Voices of the valley, a singing competition, will test performers at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Mountain Valley High School.
Contestants may preregister at Davis Florist, 138 Congress St., or at the 11 a.m. audition at the school. Registration fee is $10 for contestants.
Admission to the show is $5 per person.

Price Is Right Show coming to Jay
JAY — The Price Is Right Show starring Jeff Parsons of Q97.9 Morning Radio Show will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Spruce Mountain Middle School. Doors will open at 4:30.

Walk to see oak management
MERCER — The Upper Kennebec Valley chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine and the Maine Forest Service will lead a public walk in the woods with Jason Hilton, grandson of longtime tree farmer and woodlot manager Ralph True.
The walk, which will take a look at oak management, is set from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 19, at 424 Elm St.
This 68-acre woodlot is in easement through the Maine Farmland Trust, and Hilton and his uncle inherited it on True’s passing in 2007.
Participants on the walk will hear how Hilton approaches the management of the oak and pine on the lot. District Forester Patty Cormier will be on hand to discuss the options for oak and pine management.
This is free and open to all, no need to pre-register.

Public pancake breakfast March 19
JAY — Jay Democrats will host the 45th Annual Franklin County Pancake Breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the VFW Hall, 64 Jewell St
The menu will include pancakes with blueberry sauce, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon along with juice, coffee and tea. Admission is $5.
Participants can meet local and gubernatorial candidates and visit with the neighbors.

NORWAY — The members and friends of the Weary Club will meet for coffee at 9 .m. Saturday, March 19, weather permitting.
Giant Easter egg hunt in Harrison
HARRISON — Harrison Rec’s annual Giant Easter Egg hunt is set for Saturday, March 19, at Crystal Lake Park. This event is for Harrison boys and girls ages 1 to 9.
The hunt begins promptly at 10 a.m. Families must arrive by 9:45 a.m. and park on Mill Street behind the park, entering the back gate. Children should dress appropriate for the weather and bring an Easter basket.
St. Patrick’s dance, supper Saturday
RUMFORD — A St. Patrick’s dance and supper will be held Saturday, March 19, at the Snowshoe Club, Waldo Street.
Supper will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. The meal will consist of corned beef and ham, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, turnip and dessert. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.
The dance will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Music will be by the Noel and Don Band.
Members and guests are welcome.
Turkey supper March 19
PARIS — A turkey supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at VFW Post 9787, 58 East Main St.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger.
