Children can explore forensic science

AUBURN — Kids may explore the science behind criminal investigations at the Auburn Public Library.

The program, KIDS! Get a Clue: Explore Forensic Science, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, in the Maggie Trafton program room, 49 Spring St.

Children will participate in hands-on activities, including fingerprinting, and other basics of forensic science. This program is made possible by Cornerstones of Science.

Space is limited, and registration is required.

UMC bean supper March 19

AUBURN — The UMC Bean Supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave. This is a week earlier than normal.

The cost is $8. The menu will include baked beans, casseroles, potato salad, hot dogs, coleslaw, breads, beverage and pie. Entertainment will be provided by the Park Avenue Pickers.

Craft, scrapbook day for Murphy Homes

LEWISTON — The Knights of Columbus Council 106 will sponsor a paper crafting and scrap-booking day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Holy Family Church Hall, Sabattus Street.

The host will be Corinne Saindon, and there will be snacks drawings and make-and-takes.

Proceeds from the event will benefit John F. Murphy Home activities. Admission is $35, and will include lunch.

Checks must be payable to KC106 and mailed to James Sutton, P.O. Box 1622, Lewiston, ME 04241-1622. Reservations are required by Thursday, May 5.

The next craft event is set for Saturday, Aug. 6.
