Polar Bears offer scholarship
RUMFORD — The the Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club is offering a $250 scholarship to a graduating senior planning to attend college or vocational school.
To qualify for this scholarship, an applicant’s family must be a current member of the Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club, either a regular member or a business member.
Students may apply by submitting the following information: name, address, telephone number, and name of college or vocational school the student plans to attend. This information should be sent to the Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club, P.O. Box 634, Rumford, ME 04276. Submissions may also be made via email to [email protected].
The winner will be chosen in May by a random drawing, and the scholarship will be awarded upon successful completion of the first semester of college or vocational school.

Masonic supper March 19
WILTON — There will be a public Masonic supper at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Hall, 70 Bryant Road, East Wilton, to benefit the Building Fund from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19.
The menu includes corned beef and cabbage. Potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, assorted homemade pies and beverages will be served. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for youths younger than 12.

Pinewood Derby, bake sale March 19
STRONG — The Pinewood Derby and bake sale is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Strong Elementary School.
Those who attend may see Cub Scout Pack 500 race in the derby and make a pit stop for a sweet treat or two from the bake sale where there will be cookies, brownies, cakes and pies.
Families with boys ages 7 to 12 may meet local Cub Scouts, their families and Scout Leader and discuss joining the scouts.
Supper will benefit victims of fire
OXFORD — Hosanna Church has announced it will host a benefit supper Saturday, March 19, the proceeds of which will help Ralph and Laurie Knight of Bridgton, whose home burned to the ground with the loss of all belongings on Valentines Day.
The supper will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. There will be several varieties of baked beans served, along with biscuits and some desert. There will be a choice of hot or cold beverages. Musical entertainment will also be part of this special time, as the church has several fine singers and musicians who will be there.
Cost for this supper is $8 per adult, and $4 for children 12 and younger, with a cap of $20 per family.
Hosanna Church is located at 109 Schoolhouse Road in the Welchville part of Oxford.
