Teen Aspirations Workshop continues

LEWISTON — The next session of the Aspirations Workshop Series, “On My Mind: High School Prep,” will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in the Jeanne Couture Room of the Lewiston Public Library.

Doug Dumont, Aspirations Coordinator from Lewiston High School, will engage students in a mock schedule activity to equip students with time management tools. He will also present other elements of high school preparedness.

These workshops are open to all middle and high school students interested in discussing their goals and learning how to access resources to build networks of support. Each workshop will include a presentation and/or activity followed with question and answer period. Workshop presenters will provide handouts for students to keep in resource folders.

Free snacks will be provided.

‘The Mormon Missionary’ at Wilton Library

WILTON — Robert Lively of Wilton will read from his new book, “The Mormon Missionary” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the Wilton Free Public Library as the newest Book Talk program.

Young, polite missionaries, who introduce themselves as Elder Smith and Elder Jones, want to share their faith.

Lively is Dean Emeritus at the University of Maine At Farmington. His new book grew out of his students’ questions about LDS missionaries who spoke to his religion classes.

He holds a master’s degree from Yale University Divinity School and a doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Oxford.

Refreshments will be served, and Dr. Lively’s will sign copies of the book, which will be for sale.

Flipsides concert March 19

NEW SHARON — The New Sharon Congregational Church UCC will host the Flipsides for the third concert in the 2016 Brick Church Concert Series at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19at 21 Cape Cod Hill Road.

The Flipsides are a student acapella group from Mt Blue High School with Lynn Wells as musical director.

Admission is $10 paid at the door. All ages are welcome.

Knights to hold public supper

AUBURN — The Andy Valley Knights of Columbus, Council 8742, will hold a bean and American chop suey supper from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Sacred Heart Church on the corner of Minot and Western avenues.

Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and younger. Supper includes hot dogs, cole slaw, bread, dessert and a beverage.

Library association annual meeting

LIVERMORE FALLS — The annual meeting of the Livermore Fall Library Association will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 21, at the Treat Memorial Library.

This meeting is open to all residents of Livermore Falls.
