FARMINGTON — TechnOldie Services, a nonprofit created by University of Maine at Farmington students with the mission of empowering local seniors through technology, will give a presentation from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the North Dining Hall, 111 South St.
The event is sponsored by Gold LEAF Institute Senior College, a nonprofit, member-run organization sponsored by UMF that promotes lifelong learning for people ages 50 and older. It is free and open to the public.
The presentation is an introduction to the free advice that TechnOldie Services offers to help seniors utilize and enjoy technology, such as connecting them with friends and families through social media platforms, creating playlists, newsletter subscriptions, online shopping, computer troubleshooting, tablet computer and smartphone use, installation of residential audio/video equipment, printer use, social media marketing and more.
Services are free for any elder/senior. Clients will be met at their homes, libraries, coffee shops or any other place they feel comfortable learning.
