SUMNER — The Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters will host the Mango Groove Steel Band at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School on Friday, March 25, to culminate the arts integrative theme, Cruisin’ the Caribbean.

The 6:30 p.m. concert is open to the public.

The school will host an open house and book fair beginning at 5 p.m. and a potluck dinner at 5:30.

The five-piece Caribbean steel drum band plays authentic calypso and soca music from Trinidad and Tobago, as well as reggae, motown, jazz and more.

Members of the band engage the audience with performances of Afro-Caribbean dance. Attendees should not be surprised if they are asked to get up to learn some steps and perform with them.

Mango Groove is based in Conway New Hampshire, and most of its members live in or near the Mt. Washington Valley.
