Seniors to visit Jillson’s Farm
RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Citizens will visit Jillson’s Farm in Sabattus on Wednesday, March 23.
Price is $20, which includes meal and carpooling.
Those participating should meet at the citizen’s center by 10:15 a.m.
The membership meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, followed by a pot luck lunch at 11 a.m.
Goods from the Woods
FARMINGTON — The Upper Kennebec Valley chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine for a couple will host David Fuller, Agriculture and Non-Timber Forest Products Professional IV for University of Maine Franklin County Extension.
Goods from the Woods is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the town office, 153 Farmington Falls Road.
This inside and informative session to teach what resources are on woodlots other than timber and pulp and other traditional products. Examples of what he will cover include birch bark maple and birch sap and balsam fir products. Non-timber products are another way to connect with your woodlot and can provide some extra income as well.
This is free and open to the public with no need to pre-register.

Homemakers to meet March 24
CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the Chesterville Town Office on the Dutch Gap Road.
The group will be making Easter cards for local nursing homes. The public may attend and participate.

Fourth Thursday Poetry at Rumford Library
RUMFORD — The next meeting of the Fourth Thursday poetry group is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the public room at the Rumford Library.
The library will open with light refreshments and moving on to share favorite poems.

International dinner March 25
WILTON — The Wilson Grange International Dinner is set for 6 p.m. Friday, March 25, at 1338 Main St. Minja Nedgljkodic will give a presentation from her country of Serbia upstairs after the meal.
On the menu for the evening will be an appetizer from Minja’s family recipe of stuffed eggs. For the main course Serbian Musaka, which are sliced potatoes layered with ground beef, onions, carrots, covered and baked in a yogurt/sour cream/egg sauce. A Side salad will be served made with tomato, cucumber and bell peppers along with Proja, a Serbian corn bread. Dessert will be Pita sa visnjama and tarts served in apple and sour cherry. In honor of the Serbian cultures love of coffee, this will be the beverage of the evening.

Hope Association plans dance fundraiser
RUMFORD — A fundraiser dance to benefit the Hope Association, with music by Noel and Fawn, is set from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Rumford Eagles Club Function Hall.
The cover charge costs $5, and is open to the public. There will be a 50/50 and a raffle.

Polar Bear snowmobilers to meet
RUMFORD — The annual meeting and election of officers for the Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club will be Thursday, March 25.
The meeting will convene at 7 p.m. at Sam’s Restaurant on Route 2, immediately followed by the regular club meeting. Nominations for officers will be accepted from the floor. All club members are encouraged to attend.
Early Childhood Center auction
WILTON — The Wilton Early Childhood Center will host it yearly auction on Friday, March 25, at the Cushing School.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for previewing, and bidding will start at 6:30 p.m. with auctioneer Adrian Harris.
There will be several crockpot meals as well as bake sale items available for purchase.
