Public supper planned in Auburn
AUBURN — The William J. Rogers Auxiliary No. 153, American Legion, is holding a public supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at 71 South Main St.
The menu consists of spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, bread or rolls, assorted desserts and coffee. Other beverages are available for purchase at the post canteen. The cost of the supper is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 10 and younger.
Proceeds from public suppers benefit the many programs of the American Legion Auxiliary that serve veterans, children and youth, and promote Americanism in the community and schools.

Sabattus Seniors to meet
SABATTUS — Sabattus Seniors will meet Thursday, April 7, at Maxwell-Gill Hall. The meal will be spaghetti and meatballs. Reservations are required by March 30 by contacting 207-375-4037.

Happy Body, Happy Life
LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center will present Happy Body, Happy Life: Workplace Ergonomics from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in conference rooms A, B and C at 12 High St.
Professional life can take a physical toll on the body, maybe more than some residents realize. Prolonged poor posture and muscle tension can lead to long-term health risks.
Physical therapist Kaitlin Noyes will teach participants how to incorporate posture and stretching adjustments into daily routines.

Cooking Matters to discuss nutrition
LEWISTON – The Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing will offer the course Cooking Matters — Share Our Strengths to help the community learn nutritional tips from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, April 6 through May 11.
This six-class series will provide a culinary-enhanced nutrition education program that teaches participants how to prepare meals that are healthy, tasty and low in cost. Each lesson engages participants in hands-on meal preparation, practical nutrition tips and food budgeting skills. The class is cosponsored by Healthy Androscoggin and Maine SNAP-Ed, and will be presented by Ellen Shrader, MS, RDN, LD, of Healthy Androscoggin.
The program is free and open to the public. Classes are limited to 25 participants each, so preregistration is required.

Bridge club lists winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on March 14 were, first place, Jan and Vern Arey; second, Les Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren; and third, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock.
Winners on March 15 were, first, Les Buzzell and Mike True; second, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcomed.
