MINOT — Court Street Baptist Church of Auburn will hold an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, March 27, at the home of Marc and Cathy Laplante, 106 Center Minot Hill Road. Participants should dress warmly.

After the service, there will be an Easter morning breakfast at the church on 129 Court St. in Auburn. Reservations are required for the breakfast. The breakfast is free, but the church requests donations to cover the cost of food.

Menu includes home fries, scrambled eggs, sliced ham, sticky buns (with and without nuts), orange juice, coffee, chocolate milk and hot cocoa.

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry will hold its Easter Sunrise Service at about 6:29 a.m. Sunday, March 27, on Voter Hill.

The service is rain or shine, and those attending should dress warmly and wear boots.

Calvary UMC sunrise service, Lewiston

LEWISTON — Calvary United Methodist Church will hold an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, March 27, on the lawn in front of the church at 59 Sabattus St.

Everyone is welcome, and warm clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended in case the weather is cold.

Later that morning, the church’s regular 10:30 a.m. indoor service will be a second celebration of Easter led by the Rev. Annie Baker-Streevy. The choir, directed by Mitch Thomas, will sing.

The church is wheelchair-accessible and is a United Methodist Reconciling Church.

Lisbon United Methodist Church, Lisbon Falls

LISBON FALLS — Lisbon United Methodist Church, 14 School St., will conduct special services during Holy Week beginning Sunday, March 20.

Palm Sunday Service will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a children’s processional of palms. On Thursday, March 24, Maundy Thursday service begins at 7 p.m. featuring an open Communion table to all attendees celebrating the Last Supper. The church will open for Friday Vigil from noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 25.

There will be a traditional baked bean supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 26.

On Easter Sunday, March 27, there will be an Easter breakfast buffet at 8:30 a.m. before the celebration service at 9:30 a.m. An Easter egg hunt for children will follow the service.

First Congregational, Paris

PARIS — First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., is offering a full slate of Holy Week activities beginning with Palm Sunday services at 10 a.m. on March 20. “Politics of the Heart” is the title of the Rev. Don Mayberry’s sermon and will touch on the “campaign Jesus carried out for the hearts of God’s people,” said Mayberry.

On Maundy Thursday, the church will offer a fish chowder supper at 5:30 p.m. followed at 6:30 p.m. with a Tenebrae service and communion. This year at that service there will be nine people joining the church and another nine adults will be baptized.

On Good Friday the church joins with the Oxford Hills Clergy’s annual Walk of the Cross beginning at 1 pm on Main Street in Norway.

Worshippers will meet at 6 a.m. on March 27 for the Easter Sunrise Service at Brimstone Corner on East Oxford Road, the original location of the church 200 years ago. Members will leave at 6:15 a.m. to travel together to the location. After the brief service to welcome the Good News of Christ’s resurrection, they will return for a free breakfast. This service is shared with Second Congregational in Norway and Deering United Methodist in South Paris.

At 10 a.m., the church will hold a traditional service in the church by singing favorite Easter hymns and hearing the Easter story.

PHILLIPS — Holy Week services at Phillips Community Church begin at 10:45 a.m. on Palm Sunday, March 20, with worship and distribution of palm branches at the church.

Maundy Thursday service is at 5:30 p.m. on March 24 at the Community House. A simple meal replicating the Last Supper will be served.

Easter Sunday, March 27, begins with a sunrise service at 6:15 a.m. in Weld on West Side Road (before Mt. Blue State Park entrance). Easter Sunday church worship is at 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Susan Tierney will lead all services. Everyone is welcome.

WILTON — The 1st Apostolic Church will hold a concert, egg hunt and dinner at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at the church on Route 2 East.

There will be skits and special singing beginning at 2 p.m. The Easter egg hunt will be held after the concert outside on the grounds. Participants should bring their own container. A dinner will be provided following the egg hunt for attendees. Everyone is welcome.
