1933 – 2016
LEWISTON — Stanley E. Bubier Sr. died Saturday, March 19, at Central Maine Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 12, 1933, in Greene, the son of Chester and Mary (Bretton) Bubier. His greatest passion in life was his race horses. He was a prominent owner and driver on the Maine harness racing circuit for many years. He was a 25 plus year employee for the Maine State Harness Racing Commission. He also worked for as a road commissioner for the town of Greene.
He is survived by his loving wife, Penelope Roberts Bubier; his eight children and their spouses, Stanley Jr. and Pamela, Sheldon and Judy, Kevin and Christine, Scott and Irene, Gregory and April, Susan Graham, Sharalyn Mason and Tracy, and Trevor Barker; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and seven siblings, Earle, Randy, Evelyn, Geraldine, June, Esther and Judy.
Stanley was predeceased by a daughter, Starr Ellen; and four siblings, Carl, Fred, Inez and Rose.
