AUBURN — The General Dynamics/Bath Iron Works Simulation Room at Central Maine Community College was formally dedicated in a brief ceremony recently at the college.
The room was a gift from BIW.
Located on the third floor of The Tower, the new academic building that opened last fall, the simulation room is equipped with group pods, each with a computer and screen and movable writing boards ideal for brainstorming sessions.
Due to the room layout and maneuverability, class focus can easily shift between lecture and group work.
Now viewed as a prototype, CMCC is exploring the idea of converting existing spaces into similar rooms.
