1940 – 2016

RUMFORD — Roger J. Simard, 75, of Beliveau Road, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, at his residence following a long illness.

He was born in Rumford on May 4, 1940, a son of Joseph L. and Marie A. (Boucher) Simard.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Becky Simard; grandchildren, Jacob Simard and Zaraya Simard; dog, Molly and his recently deceased dog, Barnaby; sisters, Irene Richard, Lorraine Barre, Constance Jacques, Brandy Burgess, Teresa Weber and Sylvia Simard; brothers, Joseph Simard, Robert Simard and wife, Anita, and Daryl Simard; and many friends and family.

He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Jeannette Cote and Shirley Cote.

Roger was a Mason by trade and was known for the exquisite fire places that he designed and built.

He was a member of the FraternalOrder of Eagles and the Snoe Shoe Club.
