LEWISTON — Artist Melanie Therrien is currently displaying her work at Gritty’s Art and Ale window.

The 12-panel acrylic painting is titled “Tree of Life.” The piece depicts a budding tree surrounded by animals and flowers, including a pair of crows and a dragonfly. Full of color and organic forms, the majority of Therrien’s work focuses on the mystery, beauty and power of nature. She is a member of the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Maine Visual Artists, Lewiston Art Walk Steering Committee and owns Wicked Illustrations Studio and Gallery in Lewiston.

She is currently working on illustrations for the award-winning ElsBeth Series of Adventures by J Bean Palmer, as well as “Flower a Love Story by Jack Flowers.” She is also working on new paintings to display at this summer’s L/A art walks.

She lives in Lewiston with her husband, two cats and two rottweilers. For more information, visit www.wickedillustrations.com.
