1925 – 2016

LEWISTON — Carmen C. Marcoux, 90, of Lewiston passed away on Easter Sunday, March 27, following a short illness at Central Maine Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 18, 1925, the daughter of Ovila and Aline (St. Pierre) Lessard. Carmen was employed at the former Pepperell Mill as a stitcher for 24 years until it’s closing in 1968. She was married to Lionel R. Marcoux on Sept. 23, 1946, until his passing on February 8, 1995. She was a longtime member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Mailhot and husband, Roland, of Lewiston; two granddaughters, Bonnie Veilleux and husband, Marc, and Darlene Whitley and fiancé, Jeff Woodrum; three great grandsons, Evan Parquette (son of Bonnie Veilleux) and Logan and Aaron Whitley (sons of Darlene Whitley); as well as very special nieces and nephews (children of Dorothy Aripez).

Besides her husband, Lionel, she was predeceased by two brothers Gerard and Roland Lessard; and one sister, Dorothy Aripez.
