LIVERMORE FALLS — It was number-crunching time for the Budget Committee on Tuesday.

The total for all departments is $2.38 million, an increase of $7,378 over last year’s figure. Selectmen are expected to finalize the town warrant articles at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.

One budget change is the animal control officer’s pay, which is proposed at $11,200 for 2016 compared to $10,600 last year.

Administration is $213,080 for 2016 compared to $203,203 last year.

The Police Department increased from $418,574 in 2015 to $429,528 for 2016. The committee noted the increase is for wages.

Code enforcement increased from $15,387 to $16,100. Committee member Merry Carver had high praise for Code Enforcement Officer Rob Overton.

“He’s a really decent guy,” she said. “He’s helping to clean up yards. He’s really personable.”

The library budget saw a small increase, from $62,718 in 2015 to a proposed $65,098. Committee members endorsed the increase, pointing out the library’s cultural value to the community.

“I think it’s wonderful,” Jackie Knight said.

Other proposed budget amounts include:

• paving, $120,000 (same as 2015);

• buildings, $81,159 ($81,615 in 2015);

• Fire Department, $95,470 (same as 2015);

• municipal solid waste, $114,750 ($114,600 in 2015); and

• Public Works, $348,900 ($349,350 in 2015).
