LISBON — Cody Campbell of Lisbon High School, son of Laura and Mark Campbell, has been selected to receive the 2016 Principal’s Award, Principal Nicholas Gannon has announced.
The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Throughout his years at Lisbon High School, Cody has distinguished himself in the classroom and as a leader in the school and the community,” Gannon said. “Cody is bright, articulate and kind. He cares very much about his school and community. He can regularly be relied upon to help his peers and the school. In addition to being a gifted student and student leader, Cody is an accomplished actor, having taken many lead roles in our award-winning drama productions, including the 2016 Class B One-Act State Championship production. He very much deserves this recognition.”
Campbell, Gannon and other award winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon in Bangor at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2.
The luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with presentations of individual plaques and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler, two former Maine principals and executive directors of the association. An additional five $1,000 scholarships will be presented through the efforts of the MPA Scholarship Golf Tournament.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
