Conservation district annual meeting

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District 68th annual meeting will be held at 5:15 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the WG Mallett School.

The evening will begin with a social gathering and light refreshments and include a silent auction and a presentation by Rick Kersbergen from Cooperative Extension on the use of robots on farms and how the farm dynamics have and are changing.

Awards will be presented to Rob Taylor, Spruce Mountain Gifted and Talented Program teacher, and State Rep. Russell Black for their conservation work as well as honoring the district’s and NRCS Earth Team Volunteers.

Awards will be handed to Cooperator of the Year Russell Black of Wilton and Conservation Educator of the Year Rob Taylor of Jay, as well as the volunteers who help make conservation district and NRCS programs a success every year.

‘Souper’ supper set for April 8

CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Grange will serve a public “souper” supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 8.

Homemade soups, chowders and dessert will be on the menu. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Oxford Hills AARP to meet

PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet at noon on Monday, April 11, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.

Lunch will be served at noon feature hot chicken salad. The cost is $7 and reservations are required by Friday, April 8.

The business meeting will begin at 12:45 p.m. Those attending should remember to bring a donation for the local food pantry, and the book/puzzle swap will also continue.

Holy Savior School benefit auction

RUMFORD — The Holy Savior School will holds its annual benefit auction Friday, April 8, at the American Legion Hall on Congress Street.

The general public is invited. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and bidding, led by auctioneer Mark Prevost, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Pub style food will be available.

The school is seeking donations from businesses and individuals who would like to donate an item or make a monetary donation to the auction.
