It was reported in the Sun Journal (Associated Press, March 26), that a South China man pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful sexual contact of a 10-year-old girl. The man was sentenced to only 10 days in jail.

How ridiculous is that?

He gets locked up for 10 days and that girl will have to cope with the assault for the rest of her life.

It is obvious to me that the judge does not have a family member who has experienced such a crime.

The system failed that girl.
