1943 – 2016

LISBON — George W. “Pork” Bubar, 73, of Lisbon died at home on Wednesday, March 30, after a lengthy illness.

He was born on Feb. 19, 1943, in Fort Fairfield, to parents George and Freda (White) Bubar. For 30 years, he worked at Bath Iron Works as a pipe coverer.

George enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish and camp. He especially loved his family, attending family gatherings, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon; his children, Wendell R. Bubar, Marc P. Bubar and his wife, Robin, and Dave Bubar and his wife, Jamie; a sister, Sandra Gervais; sister-in-law, Ann Marie Bubar; brothers and sisters-in-law, Judy (Roger) Currie, Jim and Liz Orser, Carolyn (late husband, Dr. John) Roberts, Jill (Bob) Shaw; Cath (Gail) Orser; grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron, Marcus, Allison, Wyatt, Owen, Heather and Chelsey; and a great-granddaughter, Lillyanna; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Don and Shirley Pherigo.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Edward; a brother-in-law, Reinald Gervais; and two nephews.
