BETHEL — The Oxford County Democrats will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, preceded by social time at 1:30 p.m., at the Crescent Park School.

The major purpose is to fill slots for the May 6 and 7 Democratic State Convention in Portland. This will be done by delegates and alternates elected at the March caucuses. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders delegates will meet separately in mini-caucuses to fill delegate slots with available alternates.

At this stage, alternates from one town may fill vacant delegate slots from another town. Representatives from the Clinton and Sanders campaign staffs will be in attendance to facilitate the process.

Individuals who were not elected at the caucus but who are supporters of one of the presidential candidates and would like to serve as delegates or be on standby as alternates are encouraged to attend the April 10 meeting or to communicate their interest to county Chairwoman Cathy Newell at info@oxforddems.org.

Anyone registered Democrat as of March 6 is eligible to be added to the alternate pool, even if they did not attend the caucus. They should also communicate their interest to Newell.

The Oxford County Democrats will hold a regular business meeting April 10 to play for the 2016 campaign, including a Campaign Kickoff dinner on April 27 in South Paris, the convention, and events in spring and summer.

In addition, candidate and volunteer training will take place April 10 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the school.
