MEXICO — The Police Department has received a $2,000 grant from the Department of Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to patrol all-terrain vehicle trails, Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said.

Patrols will start when trails open.

The Police Department will participate in an ATV safety course, in conjunction with the Roxbury ATV Club, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, in the Town Office. There is no cost and a free meal will be provided for attendees.

“We’re asking that younger kids that participate in the class have their parents present,” Hodsdon said.

“You can just drive over to the Town Office to participate,” Hodsdon said. “We won’t be outside, riding ATVs as part of the course.”
