PARIS — The Oxford Hills School District is now accepting applications for pre-kindergarten enrollment for the 2016-17 school year.

Programs will operate all day, five days per week.

Pre-kindergarten classrooms are located in Guy E. Rowe School (Norway), Oxford Elementary School (Otisfield and Oxford), Paris Elementary School (Paris and Hebron), Agnes Gray Elementary School (West Paris) and Waterford Memorial School (Harrison and Waterford).

To be eligible, children must have been born between Oct. 16, 2011, and Oct. 15, 2012. Parents must show child’s original birth certificate, submit household income paperwork (one month of pay stubs or first page of 1040 form), show proof of residency with school-appropriate address, immunization records, proof of most recent physical exam and any legal documents in regards to custody issues.

Parents should call Marjorie Scribner at 207-743-8972 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to request an application packet. To be considered for the first round of selection, all applications are due by May 29.

The district is unable to offer universal pre-kindergarten, and priority will be given to families who meet the stated income guidelines. A lottery will occur if there are more applications than available slots. Priority for placement is given to students residing in the town where the program is offered. Parents will be notified in mid-June about enrollment status.
