In my opinion, people commit crimes so they can be taken care of in prison. They don’t have to deal with the problems in life. They have meals, a place to sleep, medical care, etc. Prison is like a giant orphanage for those who seek to run away from the responsibilities of life.
The cure is to put them to work, planting gardens to feed themselves and their families left behind who must rely on food stamps and welfare to survive.
Working in a garden could be a source of time off their sentence, by the hour.
Those persons who do not like the “work in prison” concept should refrain from committing crimes.
