Eighth grader Katherine Haley from the Peer Ambassadors reports on the 8th grade this week:
TMS 8th grade:
Science: Students are beginning to work with Newton’s Third Law of Motion in science. After learning the basic concept of this law, the students then did an experiment that involved making a rocket. They then explained how all of Newton’s Laws were applied in the experiment.
Math: Some students have been working with exponents, while others continue to work on the Pythagorean Theorem.
ELA: In Language Arts students are working their way into the public speaking unit. Throughout the next few weeks, students will be participating in a number of activities to improve their listening and speaking skills.
Social Studies: In Social Studies students have just finished reading the novel, Slopes of War by Norah Perez. They are now focusing on completing their Slopes of War booklets.

Spring sports have begun! Please see the sports schedule on our TMS website to find out when track and field meets, softball and baseball games are.
Please be sure to look over your 6th or 7th grader’s Unified Art selections for next year. Students need to return their UA forms by Friday April 15.

April 29: The Fancy Dance from 7 to 9 p.m. at TMS. The cost for the dance is $5. Guest forms for the dance are due Wednesday, April 27. Only middle school students can come as guests.
