LEWISTON — Pat McCluskey was honored with the 2016 Margaret Ross Award on April 9 at the National Guard Armory for her 16 years of volunteerism at SeniorsPlus.
The award is given each year to a volunteer who has demonstrated significant contributions to SeniorsPlus.
The award ceremony was part of Volunteer Appreciation Day at SeniorsPlus and featured a luncheon buffet made by the staff of the Meals on Wheels kitchen. There were 130 volunteers in attendance.
A resident of Peru, McCluskey has rejoined the board for SeniorsPlus after her term expired. She originally joined in 2000. She has also served on the organization’s ad hoc strategic planning committee, its Advisory Board and its Development Committee. She has also recently joined the board of the Frye School as the designated representative for SeniorsPlus.
The overall program goal of SeniorsPlus is to assist older adults and adults with disabilities in the tri-county area to remain at home safely for as long as possible.
