Season outlook: The Mountain Valley boys had their highest finish during Taylor’s tenure last season, and the coach is hoping to be able to say the same thing again this year. The Falcons didn’t lose much to graduation, and bring back long jump state champion Kyle Farrar, who is also strong in the 100-meter dash and will be adding the triple jump to his docket as well. Taylor expects the 4×100-meter relay to be strong, as well as the javelin throwers. The Mountain Valley girls lack depth, but most every competitor has the potential to score points. The Falcons should be particularly strong in the relays.
