EAST WILTON — A funeral service, celebrating the life and lifetime of Dorothy Williams Gerrish Wiers was held Saturday morning, April 16, at 11 a.m., from the East Wilton Union Church with the Rev. Robbie Locke officiating.
The evening prior, family and friends visited at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington. The church organist, Kathryn Richard, was the organist and accompanist for the services. Following the opening prayer, the Scripture reading was John 14:1-6.
The congregation then sang “In the Garden,” followed by the second Scripture reading, Psalm 23. Robbie Locke, who prior to delivering his message of hope based on 1 Peter 1:3-8, offered a special spiritual song. The congregation sang “Because He Lives” and a special poem, selected by Raymond, titled “The Mother Watch” was read by their daughter-in-law, Janice Wiers. Committal prayers were recited at the church.
