Resume workshop at LPL

LEWISTON — Lewiston Career Center and Lewiston Public Library will host Resume Basics & Build a Resume Workshop form 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the second floor computer lab of the library.

The workshop will teach the basic dos and don’ts of resume writing and how to stand out in a positive way by marketing oneself on paper in a way that directly matches employer needs. Computers will be available, and participants will be able to compose a resume during the class with staff assistance. Participants must be capable of typing a resume.

The class is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Salmon pie supper April 29

AUBURN — A salmon pie supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the American Legion Williams J. Rogers Post 153, 71 South Main St.

Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children.

Supper benefits local family

LEWISTON — The Knights of Columbus Council 10019 will sponsor a spaghetti supper to benefit the Lambert family from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Holy Family Church Hall, 607 Sabattus St.

Greg Lambert, 33, suffers from cystic fibrosis and requires a lung transplant. The family needs $50,000 to help pay for medical and other expenses. 

The cost of the meal is $7 with reservations, or $8 at the door. There will also be a silent auction and a raffle.

Public breakfast May 1

AUBURN — American Legion Post No. 31 will host a public breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Sunday, May 1, at 426 Washington St. North. 

The menu will include eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, home fries, hash, beans, biscuit and gravy, pastry, toast, juice and coffee. 

Admission costs $5, and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will benefit veteran programs.
