College Planning workshop at MEOC

LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop, Essentials of College Planning, for adults 19 and older at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.

Plans begin for the Moxie Festival

LISBON — Lisbon will host its annual Moxie Festival from July 8 to 10. This year’s theme is, “Moxie: It’s Out of This World!”

The Moxie Festival Parade will take place Saturday, July 9, and participants are sought.  All parade units need to represent Moxie in some way. A copy of a current insurance card is needed for any vehicle or trailer that will be included with your group. Registration forms for the parade are due by June 30. No late entries will be accepted.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston/Auburn Veterans Council will host the Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 28.

Any group that would like to participate may contact parade coordinator Charlie Paul 207-208-0215.

The parade will form at Kennedy Park in Lewiston. All participants are asked to form between 8:30 and 9:20 a.m. Start time for the parade is 9:30 a.m. There will be a dedication at the Veterans Park, on Maine Street, Lewiston, at 10:30 a.m.
