Learning how to grow through international strategies was the message given to business leaders Thursday at the Lewiston-Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting held at the Ramada Inn. “New competitors are being created for Maine businesses all the time,” Dan Marra, president of Maine World Trade Association told the group. “Maine companies have to look across national borders to stay competitive,” he said. Essentially, Marra explained to the approximately 100 chamber members at the meeting, MWTA provides promotional, educational and technical assistance. He went on to predict that the healthiest companies in the state in the future would be those who, within 10 to 15 years, made the commitment to market not only locally, not only nationally, but also internationally.
