WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — Cecile I. (Truchon) Rousseau, 91, of Windsor Locks, Conn., died Wednesday, April 20, at Parkway Pavilion following a short illness.
Born in Lewiston on Aug. 17, 1924, she was the daughter of Ovila and Victoria (Gagne) Truchon. Cecile attended local schools, then worked for several years within the community in the shoe industry, where she met her husband. She married Albert H. Rousseau in 1951. That year, the couple moved from Maine to Windsor Locks, Conn., where they made their home and raised three sons. The family often enjoyed summers at the seashore, and later, she and Albert spent time at their cottage on Lake Ashmere in Hinsdale, Mass.
Cecile was a certified nursing assistant. She was employed for many years at the Mountain View and Bickford Convalescent Homes. She was a member of St. Robert’s Church in Windsor Locks, Conn.
Cecile is survived by three sons, Norman of East Windsor, Mark and wife, Suzanne, of Enfield, Conn., and Brian and wife, Denise, of Enfield, Conn.; six grandchildren, Daniel, Jeffrey, Whitney, Rachelle, Michelle and Sandy; two sisters, Fedora Lavertu of Coventry, R.I., and Helen Ashby and her husband, Howard, of Turner; one brother, Armand Truchon and his wife, Stella, of Sabattus; a sister-in-law, Joan Truchon of Lewiston; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband, who died June 26, 2010; four sisters, Florence Christiansen, Anita St. Hilaire, Germaine Dube and Jeanne Cloutier; and a brother, Romeo Truchon.
