LEWISTON — Police were searching for a possibly armed suspect Wednesday night after a robbery was reported at CVS on Sabattus Street.
Witnesses reported that shortly before 9 p.m., a lone man went to the store pharmacy, claimed to have a weapon and demanded drugs.
Minutes later, police had shut down the store where they were interviewing customers and employees about the heist. Other officers were scouring nearby streets in search of the suspect, said to have been wearing a ski mask during the robbery.
Nobody was believed to have been hurt. It was unclear whether the suspect left on foot or in a vehicle or in which direction he fled.
It was believed that product was taken in the heist, although police did not disclose what or how much the suspect made off with.
By 9:30p.m., the suspect remained at large.
