1919 – 2016
FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Yvette B. Cote-Lachance, born on June 19, 1919, daughter of Francis Bussiere and Eva Laflamme Bussiere of Lewiston, died peacefully at St. Lucie Hospice House in Fort Pierce, Fla., on Sunday, May 1.
She worked many years at the shoe factory in Auburn before moving to Bristol, Conn., where she worked many years at Fafnir Bearings before retiring. She will always be remembered for her love of flowers and nature, as well as spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.
Yvette is survived by a sister, Irene Lachance and her husband, Lionel, of Lewiston; her three children, Jackie Cote of Southington, Conn., Donald Cote and his wife, Carol, of Williamsburg, Va., and Daniel Cote and his wife, Rose, of Colchester, Conn.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind, from a previous marriage, seven children, Jeanne Costabile, Remi Lachance, Roland Lachance, Paul Lachance, Grace Bottone, Claire McCoy and Marc Lachance; as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Adrien Cote in 1980; her second husband, Gregoire Lachance; her daughter, Pauline Keene; a son, David Lachance; all of her sisters and brothers; and her great-grandchild, Andrew Cote.
She will be missed by many. She truly was a saint. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was so giving and never asked for anything in return. We know you are not suffering and are with the angels now where you are at peace.
We would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors at the St. Lucie Hospice House for taking such good care of her and our family.
Condolences may be shared with Yvette’s family at www.thefortingrouplewiston.com.
