LEWISTON —The Lewiston girls’ lacrosse team moved to 4-0 Thursday with a hard-fought, 3-2 win over Mt Ararat at Don Rioux Field. Christine Chasse scored the winning goal with less than four minutes to go.

The Blue Devils defense kept the Eagles (0-3) without a shot for the rest of the game. Erin Lachance had a goal and assist. Tawni Zamrock also scored for the Devils.

Eagles goals were scored by Emily Welch and Ronni Pelletier.

Kaylyn Labonte and Monica Field combined for six saves for the Devils.

Messalonskee 19, Edward Little 7

AUBURN — Ally Turner dropped in five goals and teammate India Langueet added four in Messalsonkee’s 19-7 victory over Edward Little in a girls’ lacrosse game Thursday.

The Eagles (4-0) landed on the Red Eddies (0-3) in the first half, scoring 11 goals before adding another eight in the second half. Lauren Pickett and Lydia Dexter each scored three goals for Messalonskee.

For the Red Eddies, Francesca-Beth Haines scored three goals and Brooke Lever added two.

Softball

Oceanside 7, Leavitt 3

THOMASTON — Kailyn Grover and Amanda Veilleux each had a triple and an RBI in the Oceanside Mariners’ 7-3 victory over the Leavitt Hornets in a KVAC softball contest.

Courtney Jones picked up the victory with six strikeouts on the afternoon for Oceanside.

Maddie Green had two hits for the Hornets while Angela Daigle had an RBI.

Oak Hill 15, Mt. Abram 2

SALEM — Hannah Nadeau doubled and tripled and Makayla Nadeau got the win from the circle in Oak Hill’s 15-2 win over winless Mt. Abram (0-5) in a softball game Thursday.

The Raiders (5-1) erupted with six runs in the fourth inning. Catcher Emma Hlister, Grace Sabine, Makayla and Hannah Nadeau all had two hits in Oak Hill’s 11-hit attack.

Mt. Abram’s Summer Ross doubled.

Leavitt 13, Oceanside 8

THOMASTON — Zac Dymond led the offensive charge for the Leavitt Hornets with two doubles and a single in the 13-8 victory over the Oceanside Mariners in a KVAC baseball contest.

The Hornets (3-2) scored four runs three times, once in the fourth, sixth and seventh in the come from behind victory. Brian Hewitt had four singles for Leavitt while Christian Fowler, Julian Kirouac, Lucas Perry and Tim Albert each had two singles.

Oceanside (4-1) scored two runs in the first, second, fourth and seventh.

Nick Mazurek had a two-run home run in the seventh inning for Oceanside. He also had a double in the losing effort.
